NHER 29481 (Monument record) - Medieval moat, Blackwater

February 1993. Site visited during NLA earthwork survey.
Moat like enclosure approximately 30m square abutting flood plain, with other ditched enclosures related to it and between the flood plain and a trackway, now part ploughed. A 30+m wide section abutting the trackway has been ploughed and reseeded with grass. Pottery scatter from this area, particularly on the raised areas. The whole site is known to have been ploughed at least twice in living memory.

2 greyware Roman.
2 rims unglazed medieval.
25 various unglazed medieval.
3 Grimston glazed medieval.
1 handle glazed post medieval.
