Summary

A possible medieval moat visible as a cropmark on 1988 aerial photographs is now thought more likely to be a post medieval land drainage management feature.

Probable moat visible on vertical air photograph taken during NCC/BKS survey of Norfolk 1988.
Survives as earthwork rectangle about 90m by 50m.
Site located in NLA earthwork survey, January 1993.

Low (0.3m) bank forming an almost complete rectangular enclosure with the north side an existing hedge/ditch. To the west is a near rectangular depression approximatley 1m deep and approximately 40m by 25m.
Both features are cut by a modern northeast to southwest drain.
Generally very wet area, suspect features are land management, water control of indeterminate but probably post medieval date.
