Map

21 August 1990. NAU air photography.
Parchmarks of numerous rectangular features, near river, and parchmarks of possible former revetments to old water course.
D. Edwards (NAU), 1993.

September 2012. Norfolk NMP.
The site centre was altered from TL 9880 8639 to TL 9868 8624 as a result of the NMP mapping.
The rectangular parchmarks described above have been mapped as they are visible on aerial photographs (S1-S5), and it is possible that they relate to post medieval industrial activity of some kind, perhaps relating to brick making, as there are a number of Brick kilns recorded in the area on Bryant’s Map of Norfolk (S6). They are slightly difficult to characterise as they appear as banks, as do the possible revetments surrounding them, which may relate to the site boundary. The site is not depicted on historic maps of the area, but it was considered worthy of mapping.
E. Bales (NMP), 5 September 2012.
