Full Description
THE CROPMARKS DESCRIBED BELOW ARE NOW RECORDED AS NHER 38499.
For Gunton Park, see NHER 30438.
16 July 1986. NAU aerial photography.
Linear and curvilinear cropmarks in Gunton Park.
D. Edwards (NAU).
11 July 1989. NAU aerial photography. Flight 236.
Cropmarks of square enclosure and linear features.
D. Edwards (NAU).
28 June 1996. NLA aerial photography.
Previously identified cropmarks can be seen to consist of several large rectilinear enclosures, these are co-joined and have an associated trackway. These are likely to be pre-park fields, although earlier elements may be present.
To the south of the field are several features which are likely to be pits, similar to the disused one visible and marked on the map. This disused pit appears to cut into a slightly sub-rectangular feature, which may be an enclosure
