Summary

A complex of linear features has been noted at Wymondham Plantation. These comprise a partly double-ditched bank, which merges with a low causeway to the north. To the south of this are three separate sections of linear depressions, possibly a continuation of the ditched bank. Some of the adjoining ditches may have formed part of the enclosure group evident in cropmarks to the northwest.

Map

Complex of linear features, comprising, to the north of the drive, a partly double ditched bank, around 13m total width and around 1.5m total height, roughly parallel to existing fence. It becomes more subdued to north, gently merging with a low causeway. A heavy goods drive, now around 4m wide, 0.4m high causeway extends from a gateway to east and joins and is superimposed on this feature as it then joins the present drive. To the south of the drive three separate sections of linear depressions, up to 9m wide in part probably continuing the line of the other features to north, but of different form. Some adjoining ditches may have formed part of an enclosure group, and in arable land to north-west of the drive cropmark evidence is of some enclosures. A probable mix of (deer) park boundaries and roadways (Fadens Map alignments) with possible associations with site NHER 13746.
