Summary

Extensive fieldwalking in this area during 1992-93 and 2001 recovered a wealth of finds. The most noteworthy finds retrieved from the ten survey areas included post medieval clay tobacco pipes, fragments of a lava quern stone, two medieval roof tile pegs, a prehistoric flint blade and vast amounts of medieval pottery sherds, most unglazed.
