Full Description
Freston House, Mendham Low Road. Harleston.
November 1976. Listed, Grade II.
Listing Description excerpt:
"17th or 18th century. Stuccoed. Pantile roof with gabled ends. Two storeys. Four widely spaced windows...Central gabled porch with arched doorway and 19th-century pierced and shaped bargeboards. Similar bargeboards on gable ends of rain roof. Large outbuilt brick chimney stack on end."

Formerly in Mendham-in-Norfolk parish.
Large 17th century timber framed house of intermediate type between screens passage plan and lobby entrance; has unusual extra section, apparently original, with different framing to demarcate a non-domestic bay. Much altered 1870.
