Summary

Metal detecting recovered a variety of objects dating from the Roman to the post medieval period. These include a 12th century buckle and decorated plate and Roman, medieval and post medieval coins.

12th century buckle and integral plate (broken), gilded and engraved decoration. Letters NN on bevelled outer frame on each side of a cross. Elaborate leaf scroll on plate within stamped border. 14th century spacer plate for strap end, forked 'arms' and a circular base with projecting acorn-shaped lobe.
