Full Description
1797. Documentary.
Marked as Bylaugh Hall on (S1).
August 1984.
(S2) describes the house as late 17th century and later, with English bond brick in the oldest parts. 'L' Plan with an early double pile west addition. Two storeys and five-bay south façade with 19th century windows. The building features a 19th century central two storeyed porch, a curved gable, and windows and door with hoodmoulds and varying stops. All of the curved gables are 19th century except that facing north, which has two platbands, the lower moulded. It has a gable end and off centre stacks, with later stacks to rear.
E. Rose (NAU), 10 August 1984.
October 1992. Field Observation.
A brief visit confirms the general details given for the farmhouse, though a thick coat of paint obscures dateable evidence.
E. Rose (NLA), 23 October 1992.
