Full Description
1993. Metal-detecting. Somewhere within field = context 1. [1].
Early post-medieval buckle, lobed pin rests, and acorns at junction of pin bar and frame.
Identified S. Margeson (NCM).

1996. Metal-detecting. Within context 2 area. [1].
Early post-medieval oval buckle frame with bar, plate and remains of iron pin.
Identified by H. Geake (NCM).

1997. Fieldwalking
Context 2 onwards, covers area of context 1 and 2 fields to east.
Fieldwalking by Norfolk Archaeological and Historical Research Group produced prehistoric flint flakes and medieval sherds. Brick and burnt flint scatters.

The Roman coin hoard was submitted as potential Treasure (2009 T295) and apparently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (accession number awaited).

29 September 2009. Metal-detecting.
Further investigation of area where scattered coin hoard had been discovered March/April 2009. Metal-detecting following ploughing recovered 7 additional coins from the hoard. A mini digger was then used to remove c.20-40cm of plough soil from a 2m x 2m area centred on the main concentration of coins. Metal-detecting of the base of the trench recovered no additional coins and the subsequent expansion of the trench also saw no further coins discovered.

The 11 Roman coins found between September 2009 and October 2010 that were additional to the hoard discovered in March/April 2009 were submitted as potential Treasure (Treasure case 2009 T637) and declared Treasure at inquest on 11 May 2012. These coins were also apparently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (accession number awaited).
