Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking between 1994 and 2015 recovered Neolithic and Bronze Age worked flints; undated, Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, Late Saxon/medieval, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval token and Roman and Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch; a Middle Saxon pin; a Late Saxon Scandinavian disc brooch; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval copper alloy vessel fragment, a Limoges mount from the terminal of the upper arm of a cross and an 11th to 12th century Continental coin that had been adapted to make a brooch; a medieval/post-medieval spur rowel, key and a book clasp; a post-medieval key and part of a harness and undated metalworking debris.

Heart-shaped early post medieval button with sturdy integral loop on reverse. Flat head with crudely engraved decoration. See (S1).
Post medieval casket key - oval bow with two internal projections, stem with mouldings, simple bit stem projects beyond end. File marks visible on bow and stem. Length 34mm.

A heavily clipped denier of Conrad, bishop of Utrecht (1076-99), modified to make a brooch. Reported as potential Treasure (Treasure case 2011 T103), declared Treasure at inquest and subsequently acquired by Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 2013.188).
