Full Description
1993 to 1994.
Area of medieval sherds indicating assarting on north edge of Tyrrels Wood.
Most sherds found in southwest corner of triangle. Ditch to south is post medieval, some medieval sherds in sides of it.
Medieval unglazed: 2 bases, 7 body sherds including 1 bowl with horizontal row of finger impressions; 2 developed medieval jar rims; 1 probably developed medieval jar rim, fragment only.
Medieval glazed: 1 jug rim and 1 body sherd.
Glazed Grimston: 1 thumbed base.
1 late post medieval Glazed Red Earthenware with rouletted decoration.
Finder has also found 7 more medieval sherds here.
Pottery includes fresh sherds.
