Map

April 1994. Listed, Grade II.
Former stable. Red brick English bond with thatched roof. 4 bays, single storey. Two original blocked doorways and later openings with traces of original windows. Four blocked ventilation slits at rear; to left 4 slits and 2 windows and limestone plaque 1758 GRM below a honeycombe panel. Right hand end with 6 slits and owl hole. Tumbled gables. All the slits are remarkable in that they form a I with central cross stroke and serifs. Interior has tiebeams on straight braces from wallposts and ovolo moulded terminals. 5 pairs principal rafters and collars, but only one truss above tiebeam. 2 tiers butt purlins.
See (S1).
The ovolo moulded wallposts, if accurately described, could be very important; is this a reuse or a genuine survival of mid 17th century stylistic details into the mid 18th century?
E.Rose (NLA) 27 May 1994.

November 2010. Planning Application.
Proposed conversion of existing barn to residential use including a single storey extension.
