Summary

No 9 is a late 17th century timber-framed property, originally and now used as a house, although it was at one time a public house. This building has an underbuilt jetty, although there is no surviving internal evidence, and is constructed on a lobby entrance plan. There is a large beam running the length of the entire ground floor, and the bressumer is also visible.

Listing Description excerpt:
"House, then public house, now domestic again. Late 17th century, altered early 20th century. Probably timber-framed in origin with brick underbuilt jetty to front and brick-skinned rear. Pantiled roof to front slope, corrugated tiles to rear. Lobby entrance plan. Two storeys... First-floor retains evidence of jetty bressumer although first-floor timber studwork is false...Gabled roof with ridge stack over door rebuilt and turned transverse to roof early 20th century. Rear with a cross wing to north-east side of one storey. Pantiled gabled roof and ridge stack.
Interior - No evidence of timber frame visible. Large bridging beam runs along entire length at ground floor."
