Full Description
July 1994. Fieldwalking.
Context 1.
Scatter of medieval pottery found in bare soil on edge of field and in area of poor sugarbeet germination.
17 unglazed medieval sherds, including 1 early medieval bowl rim and 1 Grimston bowl rim fragment.
3 Glazed Grimston ware sherds.
1 probable Medieval roof tile fragment.

The seal of Deodatus of Lexden, may refer to Lexden, near Colchester, Essex as 'Lexedene' is one of the medieval spellings. Enquiries about Deodatus have drawn a blank.
