Summary

Fieldwalking in 1994 in advance of development produced prehistoric pot boilers and and worked flints, medieval pottery sherds, as well as medieval and post medieval objects and fragments of lava quern. Further work in 1997 revealed two ditches and medieval to post medieval pottery sherds.

Field survey of extensive proposed development area surrounding Harts Farm (Field 1).
Produced significant number of medieval sherds.

November 1997. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of area at southern edge of field, close to the main concentrations of medieval pottery identified during the earlier field survey.
This work revealed only two ditches and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds.
