Full Description
23 July 1992. NLA air photography.
Cropmarks of enclosures.
D. Edwards (NLA), 1994.
These are similar to field boundaries still marked to the north on (S1); but as they are not shown within this site even on (S2) they have been allocated a number.
E. Rose (NLA), 10 October 1994.
January 2008. Norfolk NMP
Cropmarks of possible medieval to post medieval strip fields are visible on aerial photographs (S3).Three pairs of parallel ditches cropmarks are present on a roughly west to east alignment. The ditches within each of the pairs are spaced approximately 6m apart, with each pair lying between 21m and 27m apart. All of the parallel ditches end at a north to south aligned ditch cropmark. These cropmarks appear to define a series of narrow fields that are similar in appearance to medieval strip fields. They do not correspond to the field pattern shown on 18th and 19th century maps of the area (S4) and are possibly of medieval to early post medieval origin.
J. Albone (NMP), 29 January 2008
