Full Description
A tank trap was installed at the north end of Lyng Bridge, to the east.
Several concrete blocks were apparently set on the old ford approach.
E. Rose (NLA), 27 November 1994.
See record form in file by source [1], who adds:
Common 1940 anti-tank blocks north of the River Wensum, east of the road.
Survey No. L1-8.
D. Walker (NLA), July 1996.
December 2007. Norfolk NMP.
Four square structures can be detected at the corners of the bridge crossing in 1946 (S1). It was initially assumed that this was the original position of the anti-tank cubes. However later (and clearer) photographs of the bridge, such as (S2), indicate that the bridge still has four stone uprights at these points. Therefore no definite signs of the anti-tank cubes in their original positions can be identified, indicating that they had already been moved by January 1946 (S1).
S. Massey (NMP), 19 December 2007.
