Summary

In 1995 an evaluation of this area prior to carrstone extraction noted some worked flint, one possible Iron Age sherd, and evidence of medieval quarry pits with pottery sherds. Metal detecting has since recovered a fragment of a Neolithic flaked axehead, Roman, medieval and post medieval coins and tokens, and a Roman bow brooch.

February-March 1995. Geophysical Survey and Trial Trenching.
Evaluation prior to carrstone extraction.
Features seen on geophysical survey proved to be mostly of geological or lagomorph origin.
Some worked flint, one possible Iron Age sherd, and medieval quarry pits with sherds were found during subsequent trial trenching.
