Summary

Three medieval coins and a medieval locking belt-fitting with decorative holes and scalloped-edged flanging were recovered by metal detecting. Metal detecting in 2009 recovered an Iron Age coin and metal objects dating from the medieval to post-medieval period.

Full Description

Early 1995. Metal detector finds.
Three medieval coins. See list in file.
Very interesting medieval locking belt-fitting. Rectangular, cast, with opening centre for strap. Two rivet holes on front and back plates with 3 decorative holes between them on front plate in scalloped-edged flange. Front consists of three half-round mouldings decorated with crossing pairs of diagonal lines. Outermost moulding has a longitudinal slot which is filled with iron. Mouldings separated by single ribs.
