Summary

Extensive metal detecting in this area from 1995-99 has recovered a large collection of multi period metal objects. Interesting finds include a medieval horse harness pendant with sun/star decoration, a medieval bronze personal seal matrix, a Roman denarius and an Early Saxon brooch pin.

At location [2]. Medieval horse harness circular pendant with hole for suspension - gilt. Blazon: an or (gold) ? sun/star of eleven points.

Medieval oval buckle frame with offset narrowed bar, bronze pin and long tapering plate. Plate has five bronze rivets and is decorated with single line rocker-arm border.

Medieval bronze personal seal matrix with hexagonal handle ending in trefoil loop above moulded ridges. Circular die shows hare standing on ?furrowed field with plant behind. Legend between borders X IE SV NUTEL(?) I ESV. (S6).
