16 June 1995. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Initial field survey of area to north of that stripped for gravel extraction found a scatter of burnt flint and four flakes (Context 1).

27-28 June 1995. Watching Brief.
Stripped area of new pit was detected and observed. Surface much disturbed by machinery. No features observed. Black patches seen at north of stripped area were of mineral staining. A screening bank of soil along south side of field (adjacent to Litcham Road) (and in Bittering parish) was metal detected; no finds.
