Summary

The Grange is a 17th century timber framed house with gables, pantile roof, an off centre chimney stack, and end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and an attic, and there is an 18th century brick rear addition of two storeys and an attic, with a Tuscan porch to the east. Inside, The Grange has stopped beams, plus two wooden and one marble fireplaces, all 18th century, which were brought from Flixton Hall in Suffolk. In the grounds is a small single storey 18th or 19th century summerhouse of painted brick, circular in plan with a flat front conical felted roof.

The Grange.
Timber framed house, 17th century. Gables, pantile roof. Off centre stack and end stacks. Two storeys and attic. Sash windows, two canted bays on ground floor. Modern dormers. 18th century brick rear addition two storeys and attic, with Tuscan porch to east. Interior has stopped beams, plus two wooden and one marble fireplaces, all 18th century, brought from Flixton Hall, Suffolk.
In grounds, small summerhouse, 18th or 19th century, painted brick; circular plan with flat front conical roof, felted. Single storey, round arched door in reeded surround, rounded window to east side. Small brick stack at rear. Segmental domed ceiling and small iron gate.
Information from (S1). Both buildings Grade II.
(S2) in file shows internal studwork and diagonal bracing, and refers to the building as 16th century.
