Full Description
April 1996. Systematic Fieldwalking and Metal-detecting Survey.
Field survey in advance of possible golf course extension. Susans Wood.
Prehistoric flint flakes and some scrapers and retouched pieces.

June-July 1996. Trial Trenching.
Excavations revealed ditches and pits with Bronze Age sherds and worked flint; a pit with a Roman pot; and double ditches, perhaps an Roman trackway.
The turnpike road NHER 9741 was also sectioned within this site.
Illegal metal detecting rally on site during evaluation produced Roman and medieval coins and metalwork, listed in report as above.
