Summary

During the 1940s part of a shield and bones were found in this area. It is possible that these came from an Early Saxon inhumation burial.

1940s. Said by local farmworker to have been found in the field with the marl pit (see (S1)) on other side of road from NHER 6112.
'Half a Roman shield and bones'. Former discarded in adjacent plantation.
Possibly an Early Saxon inhumation.
