About 1946. Hopton Saw Mills. Found when digging sawdust pit.
Mass of pottery including a samian lamp, stamped with M or perhaps lamba-iota, the handle moulded to the shape of a sphinx between the horns of a crescent moon.
Mass of charcoal and hearth or perhaps clay oven also found.
