Summary

Metal detecting in this area between 1995 and 2021 recovered a prehistoric flint flake; Roman, Middle Saxon and medieval to post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens; undated copper alloy metal-detecting debris and a range of other Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated lead weight; Middle Saxon and ?Late Saxon brooches; Middle/Late Saxon strap ends; a Late Saxon strap end; a medieval spindle whorl or weight; medieval/post-medieval lead weights and post-medieval buckles, furniture fittings, sword-belt fittings, belt and harness mounts, a coin weight, spur, casket key, lead button, lead cloth seals and lead weights.
