Summary

Metal detecting in 1995 recovered a couple of magnificent Saxon finds. The first of these was a Late Saxon disc brooch decorated with a cruciform motif and featuring a pelleted border. The other find was an impressive gold coin.

Lovely Late Saxon lead disc brooch, cruciform motif with bosses in quadrants and one in centre. Pelleted border; stubs of lug and catchplate on reverse.
Middle Saxon gold coin.
