Summary

Sporadic metal-detecting between 1995 and 2019 recovered a medieval pottery sherd, medieval and post-medieval coins and Roman and Late Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include undatable casting waste; a Roman steelyard weight and nail; a Late Saxon Anglo-Scandinavian pendant; a Late Saxon to post-medieval spindle whorl; medieval harness mounts, a thimble, arm and hand of a gilded figurine, and a sword belt fitting; medieval/post-medieval purse fragments, lead weights, a copper alloy vessel fragment, a sword belt, and a lead stylus or writing lead and a post-medieval buckle, bell, button, cloth seal, head-dress pin, and lead weights.
