A series of linear ditch features are visible as cropmarks on NLA aerial photographs from 1990 (S1). The linear features are quite narrow and together they have a very irregular appearance. The area is centred on TF9451 4165 and is about 90m x 90m in size. The date and origin of this site is uncertain. There does, however, seem to be a double ditched linear located at NGR TF9452 4166, which may be the remains of a trackway in amongst this complex. Also in the southeast corner of the field there appears to be a curvilinear feature, possibly part of a curvilinear enclosure. However, the feature ceases to be visible as a cropmark at the field boundary and there are the remains of a large pit/hollow in the adjacent field within the area the 'enclosure' should cover.
H. Clare (NMP), 11 October 2002.
