Full Description
Pair of underground brick vaulted chambers of mid-late 19th century date discovered under gardens of Nos 7-8 and under roadway. Other chambers said to exist in area. Possibly connected with adjacent maltings.

This site is noted in White's Directory (S2) in 1883. White states that the Swaffham waterworks opened in 1867, using a deep well combined with reservoirs and a water tower to solve the low water-table problem.
