Summary

Originally a two room late 16th or early 17th century house with a chimney stack. The house was extended to the east in two stages. The first stage of about 1700 probably happened at the same time as the addition of the brick façade and the rear stair turret. A second extension was added later in the 18th century. There is some good 18th century panelling inside.

Brick house. Probably basically a two room late 16th/early 17th century house with stack (rebuilt in about 1950) extended to the east at two periods; the first pre-dating or contemporary with the façade of about 1700 and the rear stair turret of the same date. Second extension is later in the 18th century. Stack in the first extension has a Jacobean overmantel but this may not be in its original position. 18th century panelling. Rear extension of uncertain date. Two cellars.
(A medieval beam from elsewhere was brought in in 1996).
See report (S2), photographs (S3) and architectural plans (S4) in file.
