Summary

Metal detecting and fieldwalking in this area in 1996 and 2001-03 recovered a range of multi period finds. Noteworthy finds included part of a Neolithic axehead, Roman grey ware pottery sherds, a medieval pot mend as well as undated metal working debris.

Roman greyware: two jar rims, one base, twelve body sherds (one rusticated).
One body sherd coarse Roman oxidised.
One body sherd Roman oxidised, probably once red-slipped, rouletted decoration.
Large sherd Grimston Glazed jug rim with robust twisted handle.
