Summary

Metal-detecting in 1996/1997 and 2014 recovered medieval and post-medieval coins as well as Roman and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman dolphin type brooch; medieval buckles, a horse harness pendant and lead-alloy vessel foot; a medieval/post-medieval book clasp and post-medieval buckles and buttons.

Full Description

September 1996. Metal-detecting. [1].
Medieval and post medieval metal finds and coins, in strip along south edge of field.
One medieval coin near north end of field.

January 1997. Metal-detecting. [1].
Cast medieval vessel fragment. Inside stamped with cross in circle motif. ?Maker's mark.
Hinged Dolphin brooch, very wide tubular wings closed at one end for hinge bar, decorated with 2 incised lines. Top of bow with trumpet like moulding. Late 1st to early 2nd century. See (S1).
