Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1996 recovered a 4th century AD coin, probable medieval strap fittings and a 15th or 16th century thimble.

One Roman coin. See list in file.
One plate from strap end with simple flat knop, tapering, two rivet holes. medieval, probably 14th century.
Tiny bar mount, two attachment rivets. Convex section with grooves down long sides. ?Medieval belt fitting.
Large 15th/16th century thimble made by stamping and hammering, straight rim with single groove. Hand-punched circular indentations. Top missing.
