Timber framed building, apparently a three-cell, two storey house with off-centre stack, dating from around 1700; though possibility of older origins cannot be ruled out. Extended in 19th century, perhaps when it became a public house, and again in 20th century.
See report and plan in file.
Compiled by E. Rose (NLA), 23 December 1996.
Evaluatory stripping confirmed possibility of older origin. 16th century frame at south end, probably with firehood, was part rebuilt and had stack remade in late 17th century.
See additional report in file.
Compiled by E. Rose (NLA), 14 February 1997.
