1996. Metal detecting find.
Medieval hexagonal ring brooch with incurved sides, silver gilt. 14th century. Inscribed with 6 letters on each face, in low relief, on a scored ground. Obverse; MAROVS, Reverse; RVNMA [cross in box] (?meaning). Pin looped round narrow bar, moulding rear loop on front.
Identified by S. Margeson (NCM) 18 March 1996.
