January 1996. Desk-based Assessment.
Assessment of Thetford Rifle Range, ahead of proposed development.
Walk-over survey undertaken.

February 1996. Trial Trenching.
Evaluation of site of proposed development at Thetford Rifle Range.
The four trenches excavated revealed no archaeologically significant features or deposits.
A single prehistoric worked flint was recovered.
The thin topsoil showed no evidence of former ploughing.
