Summary

Fieldwalking in this area during 1997-98 recovered a range of medieval and post medieval pottery sherds. Types identified consisted of medieval Glazed Grimston Ware and post medieval Glazed Red Earthenware.

January 1997. Area of field fieldwalked, for approximately two hours.
One medieval unglazed, four Glazed Grimston.
One odd ?Medieval import?, white fabric with parallel grooves on exterior. No surviving glaze.
One Glazed Red Earthenware.

One body sherd Glazed Grimston with white slip blobs.
One body sherd Glazed Grimston.
Three body sherds medieval unglazed.

Late August 1998. Found in stubble. In centre of area and extending to east.
One abraded body sherd reduced, medieval or earlier.
Three body sherds medieval unglazed.
One body sherd Glazed Grimston.
