2 Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age button/thumbnail scrapers
1 Bronze Age discoidal scraper
Other pieces of probable later prehistoric date included:
1 knife made on blade
1 pick-like borer

September 1998. Fieldwalking.
Additional fieldwalking, concentrated in area to west of public path. Some furrows still visible although vegetation growth prevented detailed survey. Four worked flints were recovered; an unfinished Mesolithic microlith, a heavily patinated blade and two small snapped bladelets. Ten sherds of pottery were also found, of which six were prehistoric, two were possibly Roman, one was medieval and one was undatable. The prehistoric pottery included two grog-tempered sherds of possible Bronze Age date. A thickened rim sherd with fingertip impressed decoration may also be Bronze Age, although it could be Neolithic Mildenhall ware.
See lists in file.
