Summary

Metal detecting in January 1997 recovered a selection of metalwork finds and coins dating from a range of periods. The more interesting finds include a Roman keyhole-shaped brooch, and a medieval pentagonal strap.

January 1997. Metal detector finds.
Keyhole-shaped rosette brooch; cylindrical spring cover retaining spring with stub of pin. Below this an incomplete circulate plate with traces of solder from an applied disc. Foot missing. Mid 1st century. Polaroid (S1) taken by NCM.
Pentagonal strap slide with hole for rivet. medieval.
Double-looped late medieval/early post medieval buckle frame; iron staining on bar.
One Roman coin.
One post medieval jetton.
