Full Description
Type 22 pill box, demolished 1991.
See (S1).
D.Gurney (NLA) October 1996.
May 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The World War Two Type 22 pillbox described above is visible as an extant structure on aerial photographs (S2)-(S4), centred at TG 4070 1082. Although only part of it can be seen, its full extent has been conjectured for the NMP mapping. There appears to be some discrepancy between the location recorded here, which is supported by the aerial photographic evidence, and those recorded by NMR TG 41 SW 47 and the Defence Areas Project (see (S5)), for example. The records do all appear to refer to the same site, however.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 26 May 2007.
