Summary

A very rare World War Two type 2/206 pillbox exists at this location. It is very large and is hexagonal in shape, with two loop holes for heavy machine guns.

This pillbox is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2) consulted as part of the Norfolk NMP project, but was not mapped due to the structure being sufficiently recorded by existing Ordnance Survey mapping. See NHER 5742 for overall record for the airfield and related defences.
