Summary

A World War Two pillbox of unknown type once stood on the site of the rugby club. It may have been positioned to defend the possible searchlight battery and/or gun emplacement to the east (NHER 54504). It no longer survives as it was blown up at an unspecified date.

The pillbox recorded above could not be identified on aerial photographs of the area, however it may have been located in order to defend the possible searchlight and or gun emplacement visible to the east (NHER 54504).
