Summary

Broome Cottage is a 17th century building in part. It was used as a tannery by at least 1750 and two pits found in the garden may have been assoicated with tanning work. Five palaeolithic flint flakes, a 16th century glass sherd and medieval and post medieval pottery sherds have also been collected from the garden. A millstone was recovered from Broome Beck, adjacent to the garden.
