Summary

This is the site of a post medieval brickworks that can still be seen on aerial photographs of the area. The brickworks are marked on a 1905 map that shows the kiln and associated buildings as well as the quarry pits but the site is marked disused meaning they must have closed before this date.

Site of brickworks marked as disused on (S1). No trace at all on ground, though local farmers still refer to it as the Brick Hills.

The brickworks are recorded as 'disused' on (S2), which shows the kiln and associated buildings, as well as the quarry pits. These are still visible on aerial photographs as earthworks in 1948 and as soilmarks in 1967.
