Full Description
June/July 1997. Metal detecting find.
Medieval gold finger ring with empty setting for a gemstone, with a deep collet probably for a polished (not cut) stone.
Fairly large (man's) hoop, decorated with irregularly spaced crosses separated by transverse line. 13th/14th century.
Identified by H. Geake (A&E).
