Summary

Metal detecting recovered a silver Iron Age coin of the Iceni tribe and an Iron Age or Roman copper alloy brooch.

1996. Metal detecting.
Iron Age coin.
Iron Age/Roman brooch, missing head and foot, rounded-section bow decorated just below the angle with transverse and chevron mouldings. Top of open catchplate survives. As head is missing it is difficult to be certain of type or date, but straightness of bow below sharp angle is like a Harp brooch, and decoration below angle like a Colchester. 1st century BC or 1st century AD.
