Summary

Metal detecting in 1997 uncovered an unusual lead plaque. It is post medieval in date with a Corinthian style decoration and may have come from a carriage. Later in 2004 a medieval spur was also recovered.

August 1997. Metal detecting find.
Probably late post medieval lead plaque, incomplete. Cast with, on one side, decoration of a portico (part of). An arched door with a column on either side, perhaps Corinthian, with an arched window above and a circular window at top. Very unusual find, unsure what the plaque is from? A carriage?
