Summary

Metal detecting in 1996 recovered a Roman brooch and a medieval coin. Fieldwalking as part of the Holkham Estate Survey in 2000 recovered a scatter of possible prehistoric burnt flints, a flint scraper and a flint flake. Nine pieces of Roman pot were also found.

2000. Systematic Fieldwalking Survey.
Non-collection fieldwalking undertaken as part of archaeological assessment of Holkham Estate (Field 3).
Towards the centre of the field, a scatter of burnt flint along with a flint scraper and two flint flakes.
Towards the southwest corner of the field lay a scatter of nine Roman greyware sherds.
